Eden Hazard is living his retirement exactly as he played: his own way. In an interview with Average Rob, the former Chelsea and Real Madrid winger, 35, described a daily routine shaped by family, casual sports and a few unapologetic pleasures.

The day begins with dropping the children at school, followed by a run between 7 and 12 kilometres. “I need to lose weight,” he admits frankly. A walk with his two Maltese dogs completes this morning programme before the tone shifts noticeably. “Sometimes I play golf or padel and then we go have beers at the cafeteria,” continues the former Belgian international.

The afternoon belongs to his children. “I pick the kids up from school and then I’m a taxi, driving everyone to their activities,” he sums up. No video sessions, no documentaries about football’s great names once night falls: “Once the kids are in bed, I watch a series. I love Desperate Housewives.”

During a career marked by recurring criticism about his weight and lifestyle — particularly during his years in Madrid — Hazard never really gave in to demands for absolute performance. His retirement, which began in 2023, seems to extend this consistency: neither asceticism nor excess, but a personal balance that the Belgian claims without the slightest embarrassment.
