Rosenior Expected at Paris FC on Thursday to Replace Kombouaré
Antoine Kombouaré is leaving Paris FC due to lack of financial agreement, four months after saving the club from relegation. English manager Liam Rosenior, former Strasbourg coach, is set to take over on Thursday on a two-year deal.
Liam Rosenior is expected at Paris FC on Thursday to take charge of the Ligue 1 club, following the official breakdown between Antoine Kombouaré and the Paris board announced Wednesday.
Kombouaré joined Paris FC just over four months ago when the club faced relegation with eleven matches remaining in the previous season. The Kanak manager managed to keep the club in the top flight, a turnaround that seemed to argue for an extension. However, the two parties never reached a financial agreement, ending their collaboration.
The Arnault family, owners of the club, had anticipated this outcome by studying several profiles in recent days. Rosenior, former Strasbourg manager, emerged as the Paris board’s top choice ahead of Walid Regragui and Habib Beye. He is expected to sign a two-year deal, with a third year as an option.
The Englishman will not come alone: his assistants Justin Walker and Kalifa Cissé, as well as Ben Warner in charge of video analysis, will accompany him to the capital. The three men had already followed him during his time at Chelsea. Goalkeeper coach Mickaël Boully and performance manager Pascal Faure, already present under Stéphane Gilli before the club’s promotion to Ligue 1, are expected to remain in their positions and complete the new coaching staff.
