Richarlison is attempting to take legal action against Tottenham Hotspur to cancel his contract and secure a move to Brazilian club Vasco da Gama, according to a report from Brazilian outlet Globo. The striker has been excluded from Spurs’ Premier League squad this season, intensifying his desire to leave the club.

The Brazilian forward has been at the centre of transfer speculation throughout the summer window. Talks of a potential swap deal with Everton, involving Ilman Ndaiye, came to nothing after Ndaiye ultimately joined Manchester City. Richarlison was subsequently linked with a move to Turkish side Trabzonspor, but no deal materialised.

Ahead of those links emerging, Richarlison had already released a public statement that appeared to take aim at Tottenham amid the uncertainty surrounding his future — a sign of the growing tension between player and club.

Globo’s report now suggests the situation has escalated significantly, with Richarlison prepared to pursue a legal route to force through his exit. A return to Brazil with Vasco da Gama is said to be his preferred destination.
