Désiré Doué continues to impress at PSG: in twelve matches across all competitions this season, the French international winger has scored four goals and provided four assists in 757 minutes of effective playing time, confirming his status as a cornerstone of Paris’s attacking setup.

Consultant Jean-Michel Larqué expressed his admiration for the former Rennes player on Wednesday. “I love Doué. On an individual level, you take Olise and you say: ‘That’s how you play football’. And if you’re right-footed, you take Doué and you say: ‘That’s how you play football’,” he declared, placing both players as absolute technical references in their respective positions.

Larqué went on to detail the qualities that make Doué a player apart. “This guy has exceptional qualities. He has remarkable accuracy, I think it’s something nature gave him, but he’s remarkably skilful. Technically, he’s very good and physically he’s very strong.”

On the question of progression, the consultant is almost at a loss for expectations given how high the current level already seems. “The margin for improvement, I don’t think it’s huge. We could perhaps ask him to be a bit more consistent in his performances. At the level he’s at when he’s very good, I don’t see what could be better.”

Despite scoring just one goal in Ligue 1 at this stage of the season, Doué has proven decisive in the Ligue des Champions, confirming match after match his importance in Paris’s play.
