Hervé Renard announced his first squad of 25 players as Ivory Coast head coach on Wednesday, ahead of September’s gathering. The French manager returns to the Elephants after his first spell (2014-2015), which was crowned by a Coupe d’Afrique des Nations title.

Renard took over from Emerse Faé after the 2026 World Cup. For this first call-up, he has relied on proven names: midfielder Yan Diomandé, fresh from his transfer to Madrid, features prominently alongside Guéla Doué, Nicolas Pépé and Evan Ndicka.

The squad also includes six new faces. Christ Tapé, Kassoum Ouattara, Yann Gboho, Amadou Koné, Eddy Doué, Malick Yalcouyé, Patrick Zabi and Ryan Fofana make their entry into the Ivory Coast group, a sign that Renard intends to broaden the talent pool while relying on an experienced core.
