QPR have issued a public appeal for the safe return of former midfielder Akos Buzsaky after the 44-year-old was reported missing in Hungary, with police said to have been searching for him for over a week.

The Championship club posted on X: “The club are concerned to learn that R’s favourite Akos Buzsaky has been reported missing. We’re all praying he’s found safe and well.”

Reports from Hungary indicate Buzsaky has been missing for more than a week and that local police are currently conducting a search.

Buzsaky made 125 appearances for QPR, scoring 24 goals, and was part of the squad during the club’s 2011-12 Premier League campaign. Before arriving at Loftus Road, the Hungarian also represented Plymouth Argyle and Portsmouth during his time in English football.

More details are expected to follow as the situation develops.
