The LFP came down hard: the disciplinary commission condemned AS Saint-Étienne to a three-match partial closure of its Charles-Paret stand, effective immediately, in response to the numerous flares and fireworks ignited in the Kop Nord during the home reception of FC Nantes on October 24 in Ligue 2.

The first concrete consequence bars affected season-ticket holders from the home match against Laval. To limit the financial impact, the Saint-Étienne management announced they will receive a credit equivalent to 3/17 of their season-ticket price, as compensation for the three matches they will not be able to attend from their usual location.

Beyond the sporting sanction, the club has also decided to terminate the contract of the company responsible for access control in the North stand. This change of provider will result in a complete reorganization of the steward system at Geoffroy-Guichard.

This decision stems directly from the internal investigation conducted by the Greens to understand how the pyrotechnic devices were able to pass through the security gates. By drawing conclusions from these failures, Saint-Étienne intends to strengthen its system for upcoming fixtures.
