Ligue 1 TV rights: LFP sets reserve price for 2027-2032
The French Professional Football League has officially launched its call for tenders for Ligue 1 television rights for the 2027-2032 period. A reserve price has already been set and deposited with a bailiff, according to L'Équipe.
The LFP officially launched its call for tenders on Tuesday for Ligue 1 television rights, two years ahead of the originally planned schedule. The goal: to find a new broadcaster for the French championship for the 2027-2032 period.
The main novelty of this call for tenders lies in the structure of the package offered. The LFP has chosen to market all rights in the form of a single package, available in two configurations: the acquisition of broadcasting rights for all Ligue 1 matches, or the exclusive distribution of the Ligue 1+ service.
This unprecedented structure opens the door to platforms such as Apple, Amazon or Netflix, which have so far had little presence in French football.
The reserve price, the threshold below which the LFP would refuse any offer, has already been set. Its amount remains confidential: it has been deposited with a bailiff, reveals the sports daily. This is the floor that candidates will need to meet to hope to win the call for tenders, whose precise schedule has not yet been communicated.
