PSG ultras take legal action against Vélodrome ban ahead of Classique

Collectif Ultras Paris (CUP) announced that it has retained a lawyer to file an emergency petition with the Conseil d’État to challenge the travel ban that excludes them from the Vélodrome for the OM-PSG Classique this Sunday (20:45). The move aims to obtain the annulment of the prefectural order from 28 August 2026.

In a statement published on its social media, CUP denounces eleven consecutive years of prohibition and the absence of dialogue despite the succession of six prefects. “As every year, we are banned from traveling to the Vélodrome. But this time, we have decided to contest this situation through legal channels,” write the Paris ultras.

The collective clarifies that it is not seeking preferential treatment, but respect for the legal framework. “We are not asking for any privilege. We simply ask that the law be respected,” concludes the statement, which also targets the ministerial ban expected in the coming days.

The last time Paris supporters occupied the visiting section of the Vélodrome dates back to 2015. Since then, each Marseille edition of the Classique has been played without official presence from the opposing supporters, a situation that has become the administrative norm despite repeated challenges from supporter associations.

The Conseil d’État’s decision, if it comes before Sunday evening’s kickoff, could force authorities to reconsider the current order — or confirm the ban for a twelfth consecutive season.
