PSG to defend Intercontinental Cup on December 16 in Al Rayyan
PSG now knows the date and venue of its next Intercontinental Cup final: December 16, 2026 at Ahmad bin Ali Stadium in Al Rayyan, Qatar. The Parisians will not learn their opponent's identity until December 12.
PSG will play the 2026 Intercontinental Cup final on Wednesday, December 16 at Ahmad bin Ali Stadium in Al Rayyan, in the suburbs of Doha. The Parisian club, holders of the trophy, will have the opportunity to win a second title in this competition.
It was in this same city that PSG won its first Intercontinental Cup title on December 17 last year, beating Flamengo on penalties (1-1, 2-1 aet). Since then, Luis Enrique’s side have also retained their titles in the Ligue des Champions and the UEFA Super Cup.
However, the Parisians will not know their final opponent until December 12, the date of a semi-final between South Africans Mamelodi Sundowns — who have already eliminated Al-Ahli in the previous round — and a team from the American continent.
This semi-finalist will itself come from a quarter-final between Mexicans Deportivo Toluca and the Copa Libertadores winner. The final of the latter is scheduled for November 28, between Palmeiras and the survivor of the clash between Estudiantes de La Plata and Flamengo. PSG could thus face the Rio club again, their opponent in the 2025 final.
