Paris Saint-Germain have softened their valuation of Bradley Barcola, opening the door for Liverpool to accelerate their pursuit of the 23-year-old French international before the September 1 transfer deadline.

French outlet Jeunes Footeux reports that PSG, who had originally demanded around £145m for the winger, are now willing to accept a fee between £110m and £120m. The club reportedly view the reduction as a “small gesture” designed to encourage Liverpool to firm up their interest, though the publication is clear that PSG “are under no obligation to sell” and will not move further on their revised price.

Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano has added weight to the reports, stating that a deal to take Barcola to Anfield will now “accelerate” with Liverpool actively “pushing” to get an agreement over the line.

The development comes after Liverpool fans got their first look at life under new head coach Andoni Iraola, with the Reds recording a 2-0 pre-season win over Como on Sunday. Defenders Jeremy Jacquet and Ronald Araujo both made their debuts for the club in that match, though a spot in Iraola’s attacking line remains the prize Barcola could fill.

Separately, further details have emerged around Juventus’ failed attempt to sign Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson earlier this summer. Reporter Gianluca Di Marzio, speaking on his podcast, claimed the Serie A club’s primary target was the Brazilian shot-stopper and that Alisson and Juventus “had already reached an agreement” on personal terms — with the 33-year-old reportedly even selecting his shirt number at the Italian club.

Liverpool ultimately chose to retain Alisson, extending his contract to keep him at Anfield for at least another season. With that door closed, Juventus turned their attention to Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez, though that pursuit has since stalled. Villa are reported to be close to signing Japan international Zion Suzuki from Parma, while Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario is set to join Juventus on loan instead, leaving Martinez’s future uncertain.
