PSG demolish Villarreal 6-0 to lead Champions League as Kane misses Ronaldo record

Paris Saint-Germain surged three points clear at the top of the Champions League table with a ruthless 6-0 dismantling of Villarreal, while Harry Kane drew a blank in Bayern Munich's 2-0 win at Atletico Madrid, missing the chance to match Cristiano Ronaldo's record of scoring in 11 consecutive European games.

Paris Saint-Germain moved three points clear at the top of the Champions League table with a commanding 6-0 victory over Villarreal, while Harry Kane failed to extend his scoring run and match Cristiano Ronaldo’s milestone of netting in 11 consecutive Champions League games.

Luis Enrique’s side were in devastating form from the first whistle, racing into a 4-0 lead inside 17 minutes through Joao Neves, Desire Doue, Senny Mayulu and Fabian Ruiz. Ruiz added a fifth early in the second half before substitute David Boly completed the rout in the 78th minute, securing PSG’s tenth successive win in emphatic fashion.

Kane, appearing in his first European fixture since claiming the Ballon d’Or, was unable to add to his Champions League tally against Atletico Madrid. The England captain did contribute an assist for Konrad Laimer’s goal that sealed a 2-0 win for Bayern Munich, with teenager Lennart Karl also on the scoresheet in the second half.

Barcelona climbed to second place by ending Aston Villa’s perfect European record with a 3-0 win at the Nou Camp. Lamine Yamal opened the scoring early on, and despite Villa wasting several chances through Matty Cash, Victor Lindelof and Johan Manzambi, Raphinha’s second-half double secured Barca’s third victory in four Champions League matches.

At Old Trafford, Manchester United produced a dramatic comeback to end a nine-game winless run across all competitions, beating Roma 3-2 after trailing 2-0 at half-time. Matias Soule’s opener and a Donyell Malan penalty had left head coach Michael Carrick’s position looking increasingly precarious, but Bruno Fernandes converted a twice-taken spot-kick to ignite the revival. Bryan Mbeumo struck both posts before Matheus Cunha scored twice to complete the turnaround, though the Brazilian was sent off in stoppage time.

Elsewhere, Inter Milan claimed a 3-0 victory at Feyenoord, while Galatasaray, Sporting and LASK also recorded wins. Bodo/Glimt and Lille shared a goalless draw.
