Pirelli reveals art-inspired 'FRAGILE' trophies for the 2026 Italian Grand Prix at Monza

Pirelli has revealed the official trophies for the 2026 Italian Grand Prix at Monza, continuing its partnership with the Pirelli HangarBicocca Museum of Contemporary Art now in its sixth year.

The trophies, titled “FRAGILE”, were created by Milan-based artist duo Vedovamazzei — Stella Scala and Simeone Crispino. Manufactured through a 3D printing process using nylon powder, the pieces are designed to resemble an unsteady, precarious stack of small bowls and cups. The artists say the concept draws on the tradition of passing a celebratory glass from hand to hand.

Reaction among fans has been mixed but largely good-humoured. On Reddit, one user wrote: “I get what they are trying to do but it doesn’t seem appropriate for a trophy. Seems like something that might belong in a modern art museum.” Others were more enthusiastic: “Love em. Pretty creative. I know I’m in the minority but I like those artful trophies as long as they still resemble trophies in essence. And these do, they look great.”

Predictably, much of the online conversation turned to McLaren driver Lando Norris. At the 2023 Hungarian Grand Prix, Norris accidentally knocked over Max Verstappen’s winner’s trophy during podium celebrations, breaking it — a moment that has followed him ever since. The fragile, stacked design of the new Monza trophies proved irresistible to fans drawing the connection. “I hope Lando wins, but please keep him away from these,” one commenter wrote. Others suggested Pirelli print spare copies just in case.

The Italian Grand Prix takes place at Monza from 4–6 September. The race weekend carries particular weight this year, with home favourite Kimi Antonelli heading into the event leading the drivers’ championship by 59 points. His Mercedes team-mate George Russell and Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton are level on points behind him in second and third.
