Pierre Sage is Crystal Palace’s new manager. The London club officially announced the signing of the French coach on Monday for three years, alongside his assistants Jamal Alioui, Damien Della Santa and Sandy Guichard. RC Lens confirmed shortly after a transfer agreement valued at three million euros, to which two million euros in bonuses can be added.

Sage leaves Lens at the end of a historic season: second place in Ligue 1 securing qualification for the Ligue des Champions, and a first Coupe de France title for the Artois club. Racing publicly paid tribute to their former coach, wishing him “continued success” in a brief statement.

At Selhurst Park, the new manager laid out his ambitions clearly. “It’s wonderful to be here at Crystal Palace. I’m excited by the club’s history and its recent performances. Oliver Glasner has accomplished extraordinary things, and I must now do the same. That’s why we came here with great ambition,” he said in the Eagles’ official statement.

Financially, the jump is considerable for the former Olympique Lyonnais manager: his remuneration is reportedly quadrupled in London, with a weekly salary approaching €100,000 — equivalent to his previous monthly salary at Lens.
