Fenerbahçe targets Ethan Mbappé as Lille push for contract extension
Ethan Mbappé has caught the attention of Fenerbahçe after a strong start to the season with Lille. The Turkish club has received proposals from intermediary agents for the 19-year-old midfielder, whose contract expires in June 2025.
Fenerbahçe has been offered the profile of Ethan Mbappé by intermediary agents, according to TransferFeed. The 19-year-old midfielder, under contract with Lille until 30 June 2025, is enjoying a strong start to the season with the Dogues and is attracting interest from several European clubs.
The Istanbul club has concrete reasons to pursue the younger brother of Kylian. Having reached its quota of foreign players, Fenerbahçe is forced to turn to recruits under 23 years old — a criterion that Ethan Mbappé perfectly meets. The club’s management is nonetheless awaiting final reports from its recruitment department and sporting director Oguz Cetin before taking any official steps.
On Lille’s side, the matter is being taken seriously. President Olivier Létang and his teams want to extend the player’s contract, aware of his potential and the risk of seeing him leave on a free transfer in the summer. It remains to be seen what Ethan Mbappé himself, who came through Paris Saint-Germain before establishing himself in the North, will decide — he is unlikely to lack offers in the coming months.
