Perez mocks Dumont with condom jibe after controversial UFC Vegas 121 decision

Ailin Perez defeated Norma Dumont by unanimous decision at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas on 26 September, with all three judges scoring the bout 29-28 in her favour — a result that immediately drew widespread criticism online, with many observers arguing Dumont had done enough to win.

The verdict extended Perez’s winning streak to seven and handed Dumont her second consecutive defeat, but the bad blood between the two fighters showed no sign of cooling once the final horn sounded.

The rivalry had already turned personal in the build-up to UFC Vegas 121. Perez stirred controversy by publicly involving Dumont’s boyfriend, UFC middleweight Marco Tulio, in pre-fight exchanges on social media. Dumont responded at the pre-fight faceoff by throwing condoms and money at Perez — a gesture that set the tone for what followed.

After the decision was announced, Perez took to Instagram to fire back at her rival with an explicit reference to that faceoff stunt. “Thanks for the condoms [Norma Dumont], but I did not need to use them to f*ck you,” Perez wrote in her Instagram stories. “Also, use those 2 dollars to buy a Plan B, I think you might need it.”

Dumont, for her part, was unequivocal in rejecting the result. Speaking in Portuguese on her own Instagram story, she said: “I was going at it with her, trading blows and talking trash the whole time. She was desperate. She didn’t have a prayer against me. I’m at peace and fully confident that I won. There’s not a shadow of a doubt. She knows it too; that’s why she was so desperate.”

Dumont also shared an image of the official scorecard alongside footage of Perez’s reaction at the final horn, adding: “Look at the expression of someone who knows they’ve lost. She didn’t even believe the result.”

The scorecards and the social media fallout have ensured this feud remains very much alive, with neither fighter showing any willingness to let the matter rest.
