Salahdine Parnasse made an emphatic statement on his UFC debut, stopping Dan Hooker with a vicious body kick and a crushing left hand at UFC Paris on Saturday to extend his winning streak to six consecutive stoppages.

The former two-division KSW champion entered the fight as a -700 favourite and wasted little time justifying that billing. Hooker, a seasoned veteran, was in trouble almost from the opening exchanges. A body kick buckled him, and a left hand over the top sent him crashing to the canvas to seal the finish. The Paris crowd, watching their countryman headline on home soil, erupted.

Parnasse, nicknamed “Lion of Atlas,” was signed by the UFC following a lopsided stoppage win over Kenneth Cross at the MVP MMA card in May. All six of his recent victories have ended inside the distance, and Saturday’s performance was arguably the most complete of the run.

After the finish, Parnasse wasted no time identifying his next target, calling out featherweight standout Max Holloway from the octagon.

For Hooker, the defeat continues a difficult stretch. The New Zealander has now been stopped in three consecutive bouts and holds a record of just 4-8 across his last 12 fights, raising serious questions about where he goes from here at the top level.

The MMA community reacted swiftly to the performance, with several fighters suggesting Parnasse had earned a marquee matchup — with Michael Chandler among the names floated — after such a dominant debut showing.
