Mourinho does not consider Tchouameni untouchable at Real Madrid
According to journalist Ramon Alvarez, José Mourinho plans to build his midfield around Bellingham and Valverde, relegating Tchouameni to a secondary role. The 26-year-old French international, who was an undisputed starter last season, could see his status change.
Aurélien Tchouameni is not assured of keeping his starting place at Real Madrid under José Mourinho. According to journalist Ramon Alvarez, the Portuguese manager does not consider the French international “untouchable” and intends to build his midfield around Jude Bellingham and Federico Valverde.
Yet the 26-year-old midfielder had been one of Real Madrid’s pillars last season, playing a central role in the systems of Xabi Alonso and then Alvaro Arbeloa. Mourinho would believe, however, that the former Monaco player is not at the same level as the Englishman and the Uruguayan, two players he would place at the heart of his project.
This situation comes as Tchouameni is currently on international duty with the France team, preparing for the 2026 World Cup. His return to Madrid could therefore coincide with a redefinition of his role within the club.
If this information is confirmed, the question of his future at Real Madrid will inevitably arise. In recent weeks, his name has already circulated in the Premier League, with Manchester United notably cited among interested clubs. A matter to follow closely as the summer transfer window approaches.
