Montpellier provisionally seizes second place in Ligue 2 against Grenoble
Thanks to goals from Nicolas Pays and Mamadou Camara, MHSC dominated Grenoble (2-0) in Matchday 8 of Ligue 2 and provisionally climbed to second place in the standings.
Montpellier took advantage of the early matches of Matchday 8 in Ligue 2 to provisionally install themselves in second place in the standings, following a clear 2-0 victory against Grenoble. Nicolas Pays opened the scoring in the 33rd minute, before Mamadou Camara sealed the result in added time (90+1).
In the upper part of the table, Nancy also pulled off a fine operation by provisionally seizing fifth place thanks to a narrow victory against Guingamp (1-0). Annecy continued their run with a win at Dunkerque (0-1), confirming their ambitions in the upper half of the standings.
Pau, meanwhile, secured a second consecutive victory by dominating Laval (3-2), bottom of the division, taking advantage of the arrival of a team in great difficulty to consolidate their position.
In the lower part of the table, Boulogne remain in search of a first win this season, but snatched a point away at Sochaux (1-1), thus avoiding another defeat.
