Former England goalkeeper Mary Earps has announced the birth of a baby boy with partner Kitty Forrest, revealing she had kept the pregnancy entirely private until now. The child — referred to as ‘Baby Forrest Earps’ — was born on 5 November, with Earps sharing the news via an Instagram post and a YouTube video.
“I’ve been keeping a little secret from you all, and I don’t think I can talk my way out of this one,” Earps said at the start of the video. On Instagram, she wrote: “Yesterday Kitty and I welcomed our beautiful baby boy into the world. We’re absolutely over the moon and still trying to take it all in.”
Earps, who revealed her relationship with Forrest a year ago, had given no public indication that the couple were expecting. The baby’s first name has not yet been disclosed, with Earps noting: “Baby name to be revealed! Our greatest adventure starts here.”
In her post, Earps acknowledged the dual demands now ahead of her: “Already a full-time footballer, and now a full-time mum too!” She added that she was looking forward to sharing her experiences navigating “life in football, motherhood and everything in between.”
Former England teammates Alex Greenwood, Lucy Bronze, Chloe Kelly and Ella Toone were among those to offer congratulations to the couple.
Earps was a central figure in England’s Euro 2022 title-winning campaign and reached the World Cup final with the Lionesses in 2023. She retired from international football last summer after a distinguished career that also included stints at Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain. She signed for London City Lionesses ahead of the current season.
