PSG snatched a spectacular draw away at LOSC on Friday evening, in Matchday 2 of Ligue 1, overturning a two-goal deficit in the final seconds of a heavily disputed added period (2-2).

Lille appeared to have secured a prestigious victory. Hákon Arnar Haraldsson opened the scoring in the 21st minute, before Dilane Bakwa doubled the lead in the 84th. At the 90th minute, the scoreboard showed three minutes of added time. But Vitinha reduced the deficit in the 90+1, then Marquinhos equalized in the 90+4 — more than a minute beyond the initially announced time — to hand the defending French champions an unexpected point.

This unexpected extension ignited tensions in the Lille camp. Captain Benjamin André, usually measured, expressed his frustration bluntly: “The referees, they don’t understand. I can accept that they wanted to add 30 or 40 seconds. But those 15 extra seconds at the end change the match. What kills us is this final minute.” His teammate Nabil Bentaleb offered an explanation: the referee allegedly warned the Lille goalkeeper, who remained on the ground after a collision in his area, that an extra minute would be added if he did not get up.

In the corridors of Stade Pierre-Mauroy, tension reached its peak. LOSC president Olivier Létang let his anger explode with a resounding “It’s a scandal!”, audible to all witnesses present on site.

This result leaves Lille frustrated after dominating much of the match, while PSG departs with a precious point despite a performance far from their best level.
