Manchester City are bracing for a turbulent close to the summer transfer window, with Omar Marmoush set to leave and key incoming deals for Ayyoub Bouaddi and Enzo Fernandez still unresolved.

Savinho is on his way to Tottenham for a club-record fee, and Spurs are confident they can also land Marmoush. Chelsea loanee Enzo Maresca has offered little optimism about retaining the Egyptian forward, making a departure feel increasingly inevitable. City have already lost Rodri and Tijjani Reijnders in the past week, with Rico Lewis and Nico Gonzalez also potentially on the move.

The club’s stated policy this summer has been one in for every one out, a commitment that new manager Maresca is said to share. Leaving the squad thinner than it was under Pep Guardiola would represent a failure to back the incoming head coach, yet City are running out of time to deliver on that promise.

Bouaddi has been the deal City supporters have been waiting on longest. The Lille midfielder has been a target City appeared relaxed about for much of the summer, but an agreement has not yet been finalised. City believe they are the only club in negotiations, which has reduced the sense of urgency on their side — a position that has frustrated fans. The expectation is that the move will be completed within days.

Enzo Fernandez is described as the next most likely arrival after Bouaddi. City publicly distanced themselves from a move earlier in the window, and Chelsea set an internal deadline that passed without a deal, yet the underlying appetite on all sides reportedly remains. Chelsea are willing to sell at the right price, with a figure of £120 million cited as the valuation — a sum that represents a significant outlay for City at this stage of the window.

City have also been linked with 22-year-old Palmeiras winger Allan, while Adam Wharton has been floated by supporters as a potential alternative to Fernandez in midfield. Neither move appears imminent based on current reporting.

With the window closing and multiple positions still to be strengthened, the coming days will define the shape of City’s squad for the season ahead under Maresca.
