Manchester United in talks to sign Leicester's Louis Page, an 18-year-old boyhood Red Devils fan
Manchester United are in initial talks to sign Leicester City midfielder Louis Page, 18, who is a boyhood Old Trafford supporter. The England Under-19 international has registered three assists in four League One matches this season.
Manchester United are in early discussions to sign Leicester City midfielder Louis Page, FourFourTwo understands, with the 18-year-old England Under-19 international understood to be a lifelong supporter of the club.
Page has been one of the brighter performers in an otherwise difficult start to the season for Leicester, who dropped into League One following their relegation from the Premier League. The creative holding midfielder has contributed three assists in four league appearances, including two in the Foxes’ 4-3 win over Stockport County, and has started four of their six league fixtures this term.
Leicester currently sit 13th in League One with two wins from six matches, five points behind leaders Sheffield Wednesday. Despite signing a contract extension last September that ties him to the club until June 2029, Page’s future may hinge on Leicester’s financial position, with the club potentially needing to sell if his form continues to attract interest.
Page’s connections to Manchester run deeper than club allegiance. His father, Don, spent a significant portion of his lower and non-league career representing clubs in the area. It has been reported — though not confirmed by either club — that Page and his family attended United’s recent 5-2 victory over Ipswich Town as guests.
Should United formalise their interest and complete a deal, it is expected that Page would be loaned back to Leicester to continue his development at the club’s Seagrave training facility, keeping him in a familiar environment while he matures as a player.
