The investigation, opened in 2018, concerned accusations of general financial fraud spanning several years.

The Daily Mail, citing sources close to the case, indicates that several Premier League clubs have already been informed of this verdict. The English league, which accused the Manchester club of systematic financial breaches, has thus emerged largely victorious from a procedure lasting eight years.
