Liam Gallagher fires back at journalist after Man City found guilty of 114 charges

Manchester City have been found guilty of 114 of the 115 charges they faced for breaching Premier League financial rules, according to reports — and Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher wasted no time making his feelings known on X.

City were first charged in February 2023 following allegations of widespread financial misconduct spanning several years. A club spokesperson confirmed the process remains ongoing, stating that “significant elements” are still to be completed and that the matter is subject to strict confidentiality.

“The club has diligently respected due process for eight years on the basis the Premier League board and executive would behave as an independent, impartial and fair-minded regulator, free from partisan influence,” the spokesperson added.

Manchester City are understood to be appealing the ruling, though that process is not expected to begin for several months. When the appeal is eventually heard, it is likely to be presided over by a senior judge. A final verdict, in other words, remains a long way off.

Gallagher, a lifelong City supporter, responded to a post from journalist Ben Jacobs with a message that was characteristically unfiltered: “Get your OASIS tickets bought and stop talking out your f** ar you S****BUBBLE.” In a follow-up reply to the same post, he added simply: “CTID.”

The outburst comes as millions of fans are attempting to secure tickets for Oasis’ second comeback tour, which includes 11 dates at City’s Etihad Stadium. The tour will also take in shows in Glasgow, Munich, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Paris, Rome, Boston, Las Vegas, Ireland, and Knebworth.
