Manchester City agree €37.5m deal for Palmeiras winger Allan to replace Savinho

Manchester City have agreed a deal with Palmeiras to sign Brazilian winger Allan for an initial €37.5m, with a further €2.5m available in add-ons, as they move to replace Savinho ahead of the 23-year-old’s expected £85m departure to Tottenham Hotspur.

The agreement follows City’s €100m deal with Lille for Morocco midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi, meaning the club could commit close to €140m in a single week of transfer activity. Should both Allan and Bouaddi complete their moves, City’s total summer outlay would rise to approximately £250m, adding to the £116m already spent on Elliot Anderson and smaller deals for goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli and teenage winger Jeremy Monga.

Allan, who has scored nine goals in 96 appearances for Palmeiras, was identified as a reinforcement option after it became clear City stood to lose multiple attacking players before the window closes. Tottenham are also in discussions over a move for Omar Marmoush, which would represent a second forward departure from the Etihad, while Nico Gonzalez appears increasingly likely to join Newcastle.

Despite the heavy spending, City have already recouped significant funds. Sales of Rodri, Tijjani Reijnders, James Trafford, and Nathan Ake have brought in £150m before any deal for Savinho, Marmoush, or Gonzalez is concluded, giving the club financial room to continue strengthening.

Pep Guardiola’s side are also considering a third midfield signing this window, with the potential exits of both Gonzalez and the previously sold Rodri leaving the engine room light on numbers and experience.
