Man City's opening Premier League fixtures confirmed, including September derby at Old Trafford
Manchester City's early Premier League schedule is now set, with the first Manchester derby of the season confirmed for Sunday 13 September at Old Trafford, alongside a Friday night trip to Crystal Palace on 28 August.
Manchester City’s opening weeks of the new Premier League season have taken shape after the league confirmed kick-off times and dates for all fixtures in August and September.
City begin at home against Bournemouth at the Etihad on Sunday 23 August at 2pm — their first opening-day home fixture in a decade. Their next outing comes just five days later, when they travel to Crystal Palace on Friday 28 August for an 8pm kick-off.
The most anticipated early fixture is the first Manchester derby of the campaign, now confirmed for Sunday 13 September at Old Trafford with a 4:30pm kick-off.
City’s remaining September Premier League games stay at the traditional Saturday 3pm slot. Frank Lampard’s side visit the Etihad on 5 September, followed by Sunderland on 19 September.
The confirmation of these dates gives supporters a clear picture of Pep Guardiola’s side’s workload as they look to build momentum early in the campaign. The derby at Old Trafford will be one of the most closely watched fixtures of the opening month across the division.
