Lima dismisses Hasan's callout, claims UFC Shanghai rival avoided eye contact at hotel

Andre Lima has publicly dismissed Bilal Hasan’s callout after both fighters won at UFC Shanghai, accusing the flyweight debutant of avoiding him in person before turning confrontational once a microphone was in his hand.

Hasan arrived in Shanghai on an 18-day turnaround after earning his UFC contract with a 45-second knockout on Dana White’s Contender Series. He made an immediate impression by stopping Nilson Rojas in the second round on debut, then called out Lima in his post-fight interview — claiming he had watched Lima’s fight from the locker room and was unimpressed.

Lima, who submitted Namsrai Batbayar in the third round on the same card, was quick to respond. Writing on X, the Brazilian flyweight said the callout rang hollow given Hasan’s behaviour at the hotel they shared during fight week.

“Some clown called me out after his fight,” Lima wrote. “I responded, and then he completely disappeared. Every time he saw me at the hotel, he’d walk by with his head down. Then he gets a microphone in his hand and suddenly wants to talk sh*t. Damn rookies.”

Lima left little ambiguity about his opinion of Hasan when a follower mentioned the debutant by name. “He’s a b*tch,” Lima replied.

Despite the back-and-forth, Lima says he is focused on getting back into the octagon rather than waiting on Hasan to commit. He confirmed he has already contacted his manager to arrange his next bout and described himself as fully healthy with no injury concerns coming out of Shanghai.

Hasan has not publicly responded to Lima’s posts since the initial callout.
