LFA light heavyweight champion Lucas Fernando will make his UFC debut on 15 August at UFC 330, facing Rafael ‘Bipolar’ Tobias at the Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia, multiple people with knowledge of the booking confirmed.

Fernando (13-3) arrives in the octagon as the reigning LFA 205-pound champion and a former LFA middleweight titleholder. The 29-year-old is riding a four-fight winning streak, capped by back-to-back first-round knockouts in his most recent title defences. He previously appeared on Dana White’s Contender Series, where he suffered a loss to Cesar Almeida, but has since rebuilt his record to earn a full UFC contract.

His opponent, Tobias (14-2), also earned his UFC deal via the Contender Series in 2025 after submitting Jair de Oliveira. The Brazilian came up short in his promotional debut, however, dropping a decision to Diyar Nurgozhay this past March. A win over the incoming LFA champion would go a long way toward re-establishing his standing in the light heavyweight division.

UFC 330 is headlined by two championship contests. Islam Makhachev defends the welterweight title against Ian Machado Garry, while Mackenzie Dern puts the strawweight belt on the line against Gillian Robertson.
