Keown brings a personal connection to the occasion as a former Arsenal centre-back who won the Cup Winners’ Cup with the club in 1994. Gerrard, meanwhile, skippered Liverpool to their famous 2005 Champions League triumph in Istanbul, giving him first-hand experience of the competition’s biggest night. Completing the trio is Owen Hargreaves, who earned winners’ medals in the competition with both Bayern Munich and Manchester United.
