Juventus threatens to abandon Kolo Muani over PSG's financial demands
Juventus could give up on extending Randal Kolo Muani's loan. Club president Giovanni Carnevali has publicly denounced PSG's financial conditions, including a mandatory purchase clause valued at over €45 million, as incompatible with Turin's finances.
Juventus is on the verge of throwing in the towel on the Randal Kolo Muani file. The Turin club’s president, Giovanni Carnevali, has publicly denounced PSG’s financial demands, deemed incompatible with the Piedmont club’s capacity.
Returning from Tottenham after an inconclusive loan spell, the French international striker (32 caps, 9 goals) does not fit into Paris Saint-Germain’s plans for the upcoming season. A new loan seemed the natural solution, especially since Kolo Muani had already impressed in the Bianconeri shirt during a first six-month stint in 2025, during which he scored 10 goals in 22 matches.
But PSG is conditioning any agreement on a mandatory purchase clause valued at over €45 million, an amount Juventus struggles to absorb. “Player costs keep rising, with almost exorbitant amounts, while Serie A club revenues cannot keep pace with championships like the Premier League. We need to reduce costs and find economic balance that is difficult to achieve,” Carnevali said in comments relayed by Sky Italia.
The Turin executive laid down his conditions bluntly: “The demands are too high; either we reach an agreement, or we turn to another player.” An ultimatum that reflects the impasse in which the two clubs find themselves.
Meanwhile, PSG is not waiting. Borussia Dortmund and Aston Villa have reportedly been identified as serious alternatives to host the 27-year-old striker. If these leads materialize, Juventus would find itself definitively out of the running, for the second consecutive time on this file.
