Greenwood leaves OM for Fenerbahçe for €40 million
Mason Greenwood is joining Fenerbahçe this summer, as confirmed by a video in which the English striker addresses Turkish supporters wearing the club's jersey. The transfer is valued at approximately €40 million, with part of the fee going to Manchester United.
Mason Greenwood is set to leave Olympique de Marseille for Fenerbahçe, according to a video released by Turkish media Aspor in which the English striker appears wearing the jersey of Turkey’s runner-up. The transfer fee is estimated at around €40 million, with part of it going to Manchester United.
In the video, Greenwood addresses the Istanbul club’s supporters directly: “Hello, Fenerbahçe fans, I thank you very much for the support you have shown me. I am very happy to be here and I hope we will have a great season.” He is expected to wear number 11 in his new colours.
Arriving at Marseille in the summer of 2023, the English winger made 81 appearances for OM, scoring 48 goals and providing 17 assists. His first season was convincing, contributing to the club’s second-place finish in Ligue 1, but his second campaign proved far less consistent, reflecting a struggling Marseille side.
No official announcement has yet been made by either club, but Greenwood is expected to become the second player to leave OM this summer, after Bilal Nadir, whose contract ended on 30 June and who remains without a club.
