Ronald Koeman Jr. rescued a 2-2 Eredivisie draw for Telstar against Cambuur on Sunday, converting two penalties — the second deep into stoppage time — to deny the visitors all three points at home.

The 31-year-old goalkeeper, who takes penalties as well as keeping them out, stepped up in the 63rd minute to level the scores for the first time, then returned to the spot 11 minutes into second-half stoppage time to complete the comeback and earn Telstar a share of the spoils.

It is not the first time Koeman Jr. has made headlines from twelve yards. Last season he converted a late penalty that helped Telstar avoid a relegation playoff, establishing a reputation as one of the more unusual set-piece specialists in Dutch football.

His father, Ronald Koeman Sr., is one of the most decorated figures in the game — a European Cup winner with Barcelona, a cornerstone of the Netherlands side that won Euro 1988, and most recently the coach who guided the Dutch national team at the 2026 World Cup.
