Didier Deschamps has been without a position since he handed over to Zinedine Zidane following the 2026 World Cup, ending fourteen years leading the French national team. The 56-year-old coach has indicated he wants to rest before returning to work, and British bookmakers seem to agree with him.

According to odds compiled by Sportune, the most likely scenario remains a sabbatical season for “DD”, priced at 2.25. Approaches from Saudi Arabia did take place in recent weeks, as L’Équipe revealed, but Deschamps rejected them. Operators nevertheless place an arrival in the Gulf in second position, at 3.5.

In Ligue 1, Paris Saint-Germain is cited as the most likely destination (odds 5), despite Luis Enrique’s contract extension until June 2030. Olympique de Marseille follows at 7, a club Deschamps managed between 2009 and 2012 before joining the national team.

On a European scale, Juventus Turin and the Italian national team share the same odds at 10, while a return to Monaco — where he won the French championship title in 2000 — is valued at 11. A move to Real Madrid in place of José Mourinho is judged less likely, at 16.

Among the most distant options, bookmakers mention Brazil (20), Portugal (25) and Argentina (40). Destinations that, for now, are more speculation than concrete leads.
