Formula 1 to stage three-day season launch festival in Milan in February 2027

Formula 1 will bring its entire grid to Milan for a three-day season launch festival in February 2027, the sport confirmed on Wednesday. F1 Live Milan is scheduled to run from 18-20 February, with all 11 teams and 22 drivers set to participate alongside live entertainment and music acts.

The centrepiece of the event is F1 The Show, planned for the evening of 18 February. It follows the template of the F1 75 event held in London in 2025, which attracted 7.5 million live viewers. The remaining two days will form part of a wider Milan Fan Festival, though specific activities have yet to be announced.

F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali framed the event as part of a broader push to deepen fan engagement. “We are always thinking big and pushing boundaries, and F1 Live Milan is going to be an incredible experience created with our fans at its heart,” he said. “We want them to feel that they are not simply watching the sport, but they are truly immersed in it.”

Domenicali also pointed to the sport’s growing global audience as the motivation for staging large-scale off-track events. “As F1 continues to reach new audiences around the world, racing will always be our soul — but we also want to create unforgettable experiences that bring the excitement of Formula 1 to life on an even bigger scale,” he added.

The Italian executive drew a direct line from the London success to the Milan ambition. “Building on the extraordinary success of F1 75 in London, F1 Live Milan will transform the city into a Formula 1 festival for three unforgettable days, bringing people together from across the globe to celebrate everything they love about our sport.”

Further details about the programme are expected in the coming months, with tickets set to go on sale later this year.
