Former Aston Villa and Wolves forward Jordan Graham hospitalised after serious road accident

Former Aston Villa and Wolves forward Jordan Graham is in hospital receiving specialist treatment after being involved in a serious road traffic accident earlier this month.

A statement issued by the Professional Footballers’ Association on behalf of Graham’s family confirmed the news. “Earlier this month Jordan Graham was involved in a serious road traffic accident and is currently receiving specialist treatment in hospital. His family are incredibly grateful for the care he is receiving,” the statement read. “They respectfully ask for privacy and that people refrain from contacting them directly while they focus entirely on Jordan and his recovery. Further information will only be provided when appropriate.”

Gillingham, where Graham made his name as a professional, also released a statement. “Everyone at the club is thinking of Jordan and his family at this time. We wish him a full and swift recovery.”

Graham, 31, came through the academy at Aston Villa and signed a two-year professional contract in March 2012, though he never made a first-team appearance for the club. Loan spells at Ipswich Town, Bradford City and Wolves preceded a permanent move to Molineux in January 2015.

His time at Wolves brought limited opportunities — just 17 senior appearances across five years, interspersed with further loans at Oxford United, Fulham, Ipswich and Gillingham. He left the club when his contract expired in May 2020.

Graham’s career found fresh momentum at Gillingham on a permanent deal, where he scored 13 goals in 44 appearances in his first full season. That form earned him a return to the Championship with Birmingham City, who signed him after his contract at the Kent club came to an end.

The Coventry-born forward’s family have asked that their privacy be respected as he focuses on his recovery.
