Eze loses FIFA bet to IShowSpeed and must now perform Ronaldo-inspired celebration
Arsenal forward Eberechi Eze lost a best-of-three EA Sports FC contest to YouTuber IShowSpeed and must now celebrate his next goal with a routine combining Cristiano Ronaldo's 'siuuu' with the streamer's signature bark, a badge tap, and a knee lift.
Eberechi Eze will be obliged to perform a Cristiano Ronaldo-inspired goal celebration after losing a best-of-three EA Sports FC contest to YouTuber IShowSpeed, the 21-year-old streamer with 61.7 million YouTube subscribers.
The forfeit celebration combines Ronaldo’s trademark “siuuu” ritual with IShowSpeed’s signature bark, plus a badge tap and a knee lift — a compromise the pair landed on after negotiating their way through two rejected options.
Speed’s opening suggestion was his own cross-arms celebration followed by twerking, which Eze swiftly declined. “I won’t lie to you, that bounce thing is berserk,” the Arsenal forward said, laughing. A backflip was floated as the second option, but Eze admitted he did not know how to perform one, leaving the Ronaldo-inspired routine as the agreed forfeit.
The series itself produced a notable moment of club loyalty — or the lack of it. Eze chose Paris Saint-Germain for the opening match rather than his own side, prompting Speed to call him out. “I ride or die for my team, but on FIFA?” Eze replied. “I’m not sure about that.” He did eventually select Arsenal for the deciding game.
Speed, playing as Bayern Munich, sealed the contest with a dramatic late winner in the decider, scored by former Tottenham striker Harry Kane.
IShowSpeed is a well-known Ronaldo super-fan who has attended multiple matches to support the Portuguese forward. Ronaldo himself has been prominent in the news recently after walking away from the Portuguese national team following a reported falling-out with manager Jorge Jesus. Ronaldo published a statement of almost 2,000 words last week citing a “breach of trust” as his reason for leaving.
The Portuguese Football Federation subsequently initiated disciplinary proceedings against Ronaldo and imposed a provisional suspension. A federation statement confirmed the proceedings were opened on 9 October 2026, given urgent status, and referred to the disciplinary instruction committee on 10 October, with publicity excluded until the conclusion of the investigation.
