Everton has identified Guéla Doué as its priority at right-back for the summer transfer window, according to The Athletic. The Premier League club has been monitoring the Ivorian international for over a year and could make an offer to Racing Club de Strasbourg.

At 23 years old, Doué has enjoyed a remarkable season in an Alsatian shirt, accumulating 3 goals and 8 assists across all competitions. Captain on several occasions in the absence of Emmanuel Emegha, the brother of Désiré Doué has established himself as one of the most prominent right-backs in Ligue 1, having already caught attention during his spell at Stade Rennais between 2022 and 2024.

Strasbourg finished a demanding season in eighth place in Ligue 1, plus a Conference League semi-final loss to Rayo Vallecano (0-2 on aggregate) and a French Cup semi-final defeat to Nice (0-2). This European run has put several Alsatian players in the spotlight, with Doué leading the way.

For Everton, manager David Moyes is seeking an attacking profile to strengthen his right flank, with the performances of Jake O’Brien — a centre-back repositioned in that role — not having fully convinced. Several departures are also expected in the Toffees’ defence, making the recruitment of a starting right-back urgent.

BlueCo, owner of Racing Club de Strasbourg, would reportedly be willing to let Doué leave if the offer proves satisfactory. The player’s value could rise significantly this summer: a strong Africa Cup of Nations with Côte d’Ivoire would further boost his standing on the transfer market.
