Fabian Ruiz leaves Spain squad to attend birth of first child
The PSG midfielder obtained permission from manager Luis de la Fuente to leave the Spanish squad before Saturday's Nations League match against Czech Republic to be present for his partner's delivery.
Fabian Ruiz will not be in the Spanish squad for the UEFA Nations League match against Czech Republic this Saturday (20:45): the PSG midfielder has left the Roja camp to attend the birth of his first child.
According to Marca, the news surprised the player during the international break. Fabian Ruiz informed his manager, Luis de la Fuente, who authorized him to return to Paris to “enjoy this special moment”.
Spain will therefore have to do without one of its key midfielders for this third match of Group 3. La Roja currently tops its group with two wins in two matches, ahead of England.
It remains to be seen whether Fabian Ruiz will make a round trip to rejoin his teammates before the fourth and final match of this international window, Tuesday in Croatia (20:45).
