Dumas departs UFC with 3-5 record after felony conviction and two-fight skid
Sedriques Dumas has left the UFC after a three-year stint that saw the once-unbeaten prospect go 3-5 (1 NC) inside the Octagon. His time with the promotion was overshadowed by a 2025 felony arrest and a subsequent no-contest plea.
Sedriques Dumas has parted ways with the UFC, ending a three-year run that failed to deliver on the considerable promise he carried into the promotion. The 30-year-old Florida native finishes his Octagon career with a 3-5 record and one no-contest, though the exact circumstances of his departure — whether a formal release or a contract expiry — have not been confirmed.
Dumas arrived in the UFC in 2023 as an undefeated prospect with genuine buzz around his potential. That momentum never translated into sustained success at the top level, and his tenure ultimately unravelled both inside and outside the cage.
In April 2025, Dumas was arrested on several felony charges, including home invasion, battery, and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. He did not win another UFC fight after that arrest, and he exits the promotion on a two-fight losing streak. His final Octagon appearance came this past April, when he suffered a submission defeat to Jackson McVey.
The departure follows his sentencing in June 2026. Three of the five charges against Dumas were reportedly dropped, while he pleaded no contest to the two remaining counts. He was sentenced to six months of community control and 48 months of probation, and must also complete 50 hours of community service and attend anger management counselling.
Nicknamed “The Reaper”, Dumas now carries an overall professional record of 10-5 as he looks for his next opportunity outside the UFC. At 30, he has time to rebuild, but the combination of in-cage struggles and serious legal trouble leaves his career at a significant crossroads.
