Dembélé pays tribute to Barcola after record €145m transfer to Liverpool
Officially confirmed for €145 million, Bradley Barcola's departure from PSG to Liverpool prompted an emotional reaction from Ousmane Dembélé, his long-time teammate and friend.
Bradley Barcola has left Paris Saint-Germain for Liverpool for a record fee of €145 million, including bonuses. Among reactions from his former teammates, Ousmane Dembélé’s stood out for its warmth.
The two French internationals had built obvious chemistry, both on and off the pitch, under Luis Enrique’s management. Dembélé took to social media to bid farewell to his young partner: “You’re going to be missed, my brother. Good luck in this new chapter, nothing but happiness ahead.”
Barcola leaves behind a solid record with the Red and Blue. Over three seasons, the former Lyon player made 152 appearances, scored 39 goals and provided 37 assists, contributing to two Ligue des Champions titles with decisive goals on the road to both finals.
His departure creates a void in Paris’s attacking department, even though Barcola did not consistently hold an undisputed starting place in Luis Enrique’s eyes. For Dembélé, the challenge now is to assume an even more central leadership role within a squad that will have to reinvent itself without him.
