Dana White's former runner Everett earns UFC contract with first-round KO on Contender Series
Salhahuddin Everett, who once worked as a personal runner for UFC CEO Dana White, knocked out unbeaten prospect Ozzy Martin at 1:57 of the first round at DWCS Season 10 Week 9 in Las Vegas to earn a spot on the UFC roster.
Salhahuddin Everett completed one of the more unlikely rises in recent UFC history on Tuesday, knocking out fellow unbeaten prospect Ozzy Martin at 1:57 of the first round at Dana White’s Contender Series Season 10 Week 9 at Meta Apex in Las Vegas to earn a UFC contract.
Everett arrived at the Contender Series with a perfect 4-0 record, all four victories coming by finish. His path to the octagon, however, was anything but conventional. He first joined the UFC organisation through a third-party security agency before working his way into a full-time role as a personal runner for UFC CEO Dana White — the very man who would ultimately hand him a contract on Tuesday night.
Fighting out of the welterweight division and known by the nickname “Bundy”, Everett wasted little time against Martin. He unleashed a sustained barrage of punches that left his fellow unbeaten opponent unable to continue before the fight had reached the two-minute mark of the opening round.
In his post-fight interview, Everett addressed White directly and put the rest of the welterweight division on notice.
“Hey boss, I am ready to be in the UFC,” Everett said. “The whole division knows my name, Salhahuddin, and I am coming, and I am not afraid of nobody. I am not backing down from no challenges. I am here for a reason, so Dana White’s Contender Series is just the first step of this journey.”
Everett’s contract reward caps a remarkable personal journey — from working the corridors of UFC events to competing under its banner with a 5-0 professional record. With five finishes from five fights and a stated willingness to take on any welterweight challenge, he enters the UFC roster as one of the more intriguing unbeaten prospects in the division.
