Tommy McMillen’s night out in Los Angeles took an unexpected turn when a chance introduction to Jon Jones at a club ended with the unbeaten UFC featherweight sharing an Uber to a Beverly Hills mansion after-party with the former two-division champion.

McMillen was seated at a table next to Jones when the owners of apparel brand Young LA made the introduction. Jones then extended an invitation that McMillen was not about to turn down.

“I went to the club and he [Jones] was there,” McMillen said on his coach Tim Welch’s podcast. “We had tables right next to each other. Young LA invited me over and said, ‘Let’s introduce you to Bones.’ I went over there, talked to him. He was like, ‘We’re going to the strip club, you want to come?’ And I was like, ‘Hell yeah!’ Then we were in an Uber together, and he took me to this sick after-party at a mansion in Beverly Hills.”

McMillen is carving out a growing profile inside the UFC octagon, with a polarizing persona and a string of entertaining, bonus-winning performances keeping the unbeaten featherweight in the spotlight.

Jones, meanwhile, relinquished the UFC heavyweight title when he announced his retirement last year, but has repeatedly teased a return to competition — leaving the door open on one of the sport’s most storied careers.
