Christian Horner launches UK memoir tour after abrupt Red Bull exit
Christian Horner has announced an autumn UK book tour to mark the release of his memoir Drive, offering fans live Q&A sessions covering his 20-year tenure at Red Bull Racing, which ended when he was replaced by Laurent Mekies on 9 July 2025.
Christian Horner will take his new memoir, Drive, on a UK book tour this autumn, months after his sudden departure from Red Bull Racing on 9 July 2025, when he was replaced as team principal and CEO by former Racing Bulls chief Laurent Mekies.
The 52-year-old announced the tour on LinkedIn, describing it as a chance to reflect on more than two decades in Formula 1. Each event will include a live Q&A session, and every ticket comes with a copy of the book.
“I’ll be reflecting on the defining moments of my career, the experiences from more than two decades in Formula One, and the highs and lows of leading a team at the very top of the sport,” Horner wrote. “We’ll also have a live Q&A, giving you the chance to ask your own questions and hear some of the stories from behind the scenes.”
Horner was appointed Red Bull team principal ahead of the 2005 season, following the energy drink company’s acquisition of the Jaguar F1 team. At 31, he became the youngest team boss in the championship’s history at that time.
Over the next two decades, he oversaw one of the most successful eras any constructor has produced. Under his leadership, Red Bull claimed six constructors’ championships — in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2022 and 2023 — and eight drivers’ titles, four with Sebastian Vettel and four with Max Verstappen.
Since leaving the team, Horner has maintained a low profile, making only occasional appearances in the paddock and at other motorsport events. Drive represents his first extended public account of the period, including the team’s dominant run and the circumstances surrounding his exit.
Tickets for the autumn dates are now on general sale.
