Chimaev pins Woodley in 94 seconds to headline RAF Moscow card

Khamzat Chimaev dismantled former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley in just 94 seconds at RAF Moscow on Saturday, lifting him off the mat and slamming him down before pinning his shoulders to end the 195-pound catchweight bout at the 1:34 mark of the first period.

Woodley, a two-time All-American wrestler from the University of Missouri, showed no hesitation early, shooting first and getting deep on a single-leg attempt. Chimaev shut it down quickly, and a pair of push-outs put him on the scoreboard before the decisive sequence arrived.

With Woodley pressing forward looking to either push Chimaev out of bounds or drop for a double-leg, he left himself exposed. Chimaev seized the moment, reversed the position, hoisted Woodley into the air, and drove him back to the mat. He secured the pin immediately, with the referee calling it almost as soon as Woodley’s shoulders touched the ground.

Both men embraced after the match, with Chimaev smiling at his opponent as the crowd took in the moment. The result extends what has become a dominant stretch for “Borz” on the RAF circuit, where his combination of physicality and technical wrestling has made him one of the promotion’s standout attractions.

Chimaev wasted little time looking ahead. “For me, it doesn’t matter,” he said when asked about future opponents. “Anyone. I have a match coming up in two weeks.”

That next bout is already set — Chimaev faces Gilbert Burns as part of the RAF Miami card on September 18.

For Woodley, the loss comes after a winning RAF debut against Joaquin Buckley. Despite the defeat in Moscow, the veteran appears to have settled into a new competitive chapter with the promotion.
