Carabao Cup fourth-round draw set as Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea await last-16 opponents

The Carabao Cup fourth-round draw is set to take place on Tuesday evening following the conclusion of the all-Premier League third-round tie between Manchester United and Brighton, with 16 clubs discovering their last-16 opponents.

Liverpool booked their place with a comfortable 3-1 victory over Tottenham, goals from Alexis Mac Allister, Cody Gakpo and Dominik Szoboszlai doing the damage. Arsenal edged through 4-2 against Ipswich, with youngster Max Dowman netting twice, while Fulham edged West Ham 3-2 thanks to Oscar Bobb’s 77th-minute winner. Brentford also progressed, beating Reading 2-1.

Chelsea, Newcastle United, Sunderland, Bournemouth and Crystal Palace had already secured their spots in the last 16 from the previous round, and they are joined by two League One sides — Bradford City, who were runners-up in 2013, and Peterborough United.

One further third-round fixture remains: holders Manchester City host Championship side Norwich on Wednesday evening, meaning the full picture of fourth-round participants will only be confirmed after that game.

With no regionalisation or pre-draw seeding in place, any combination of the remaining sides can be paired together, raising the prospect of several high-profile all-Premier League clashes. The fourth-round ties are scheduled for the week commencing 26 October.
