Lando Norris extended his qualifying head-to-head lead over Oscar Piastri to 5-3 on the season — 3-2 excluding sprint sessions — after the Canadian Grand Prix qualifying at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, with Norris posting a margin of 0.052 seconds over his McLaren teammate in the sprint shootout and Piastri edging back in the main session.

At Red Bull, Max Verstappen continued to dominate Isack Hadjar in qualifying trim, leading 6-2 overall and 3-2 in non-sprint sessions. Hadjar was unable to set a representative lap in Q1 in Canada after going off, limiting the data from the weekend, though Verstappen had already built a commanding advantage through earlier rounds. The gap at the Canadian sprint shootout stood at 0.101 seconds in Verstappen’s favour.

At Mercedes, the George Russell–Kimi Antonelli battle remains level at 4-4 across all sessions (2-3 without sprints), with Antonelli again outpacing Russell in Canada — 0.068 seconds quicker in both the sprint shootout and qualifying proper. The Italian teenager has shown consistent pace against his more experienced teammate throughout the season.

Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton are also locked at 4-4 overall (3-2 without sprints). Hamilton qualified ahead in Canada’s main session, finishing fifth to Leclerc’s eighth, though Leclerc had the edge in the sprint shootout by 0.084 seconds.

At Williams, Carlos Sainz leads Alexander Albon 5-1 on the season (4-0 without sprints), with Albon managing only a 10th-place sprint shootout result before qualifying 15th. Sainz did not set a time in the Canadian sprint after a DNS, but had dominated the head-to-head in every other session.

At Racing Bulls, Liam Lawson holds a 4-3 advantage over Arvid Lindblad (3-2 without sprints), though Lindblad did not set a time in the Canadian sprint after a DNS. Lawson qualified 9th in Canada with Lindblad 12th, a gap of 0.349 seconds in Q2.

Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso leads Lance Stroll 6-0 overall and 4-0 without sprints — the most one-sided pairing on the grid. Stroll has yet to outqualify his teammate in any session this season, with Alonso posting a 0.999-second advantage in Canada’s sprint shootout.

At Haas, Oliver Bearman leads Esteban Ocon 6-2 overall (4-1 without sprints), while at Sauber, Nico Hulkenberg holds a 5-3 edge over rookie Gabriel Bortoleto (3-2 without sprints). These standings are based exclusively on qualifying results; grid penalties are not factored into the head-to-head records.
