Jude Bellingham struck in the 36th and 38th minutes to give England a commanding lead against Mexico at the 2026 World Cup, taking his tournament tally to four goals and his all-time World Cup haul to five.
Jude Bellingham delivered his most decisive performance of the 2026 World Cup on Saturday, scoring twice in two minutes to put England firmly in control against Mexico.
Bellingham opened the scoring in the 36th minute, meeting a Bukayo Saka cross with a firm header. Just two minutes later he doubled his tally, combining with Harry Kane in a sharp give-and-go before finishing to make it 2-0.
The brace takes Bellingham to four goals for England at this tournament, one behind Kane who leads the team’s scoring chart. Across both World Cups he has now scored five times, and his international tally for England stands at 10 career goals.
The double underlined Bellingham’s growing influence on this England side after a tournament in which he had been searching for a truly defining moment. The two-minute burst against Mexico provided exactly that, with Saka’s creativity and Kane’s link-up play combining to unlock the hosts in front of their own supporters.
