Jude Bellingham saved Real Madrid from a halftime defeat by equalizing with a stunning bicycle kick on the pitch of AEK Athens on Wednesday evening, during the 4th matchday of the league phase of the UEFA Champions League (1-1 at the break).
After the Greeks had taken the lead, the English international responded shortly after the half-hour mark with a gesture of rare elegance: a bicycle kick in the opposition box, following a precise cross from Marc Cucurella, sent into the Athens net without giving the goalkeeper the slightest chance.
This goal marks Bellingham’s first UEFA Champions League goal of the season. The former Borussia Dortmund player had already struck four times in La Liga in eleven matches, adding three assists to his tally.
