Barcola available as PSG open door to Liverpool and Arsenal approaches
Paris Saint-Germain are open to selling Bradley Barcola this summer, according to L'Equipe, with Liverpool and Arsenal both monitoring the 23-year-old French winger as contract extension talks remain at an impasse.
Paris Saint-Germain are willing to entertain offers for Bradley Barcola this summer, with Liverpool and Arsenal among the clubs tracking the 23-year-old French winger, according to L’Equipe.
The French publication reports that Barcola has slipped down the pecking order at the Parc des Princes following the arrival of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and that contract extension talks have stalled. Although the winger has two years remaining on his current deal, negotiations over a renewal were shelved during the latter stages of the season as PSG focused on their Champions League campaign — and little progress had been made even before that pause. Discussions are now described as being at an impasse.
PSG head coach Luis Enrique is understood to favour keeping Barcola, having previously spoken of the winger as a cornerstone of the club’s future. “Bradley Barcola’s future? I have no doubt he’ll remain our player,” Enrique said. “He’s one of those young players we’ve been banking on. I expect him to play here for many more years.” Despite that stance, the club are now reported to be open to selling if the right offer arrives.
For Liverpool, the need to strengthen wide areas is acute. Mohamed Salah’s departure leaves a significant void, and the club are actively seeking attacking reinforcements ahead of what promises to be a significant summer of rebuilding on Merseyside, with Andy Robertson also among those set to leave.
Arsenal, meanwhile, are looking to build on winning the Premier League title. Manager Mikel Arteta is expected to be backed in the transfer market, with a forward identified as a priority. Barcola is one of several wide options reportedly under consideration, alongside Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams. Julian Alvarez and Eli Junior Kroupi have also been mentioned as targets, while Kvaratskhelia is considered untouchable by PSG.
Barcola joined PSG from Lyon in 2023 and has developed into one of Ligue 1’s most dynamic attackers, but the shift in the club’s attacking hierarchy appears to have altered his standing in Paris significantly.
